With the guidance of our Board of Advisors, SAGMOR FOUNDATION is formalizing its structure, operations and management. Our Mission, as well as Projects and Programs are underway.
SAGMOR FOUNDATION - THE MISSION
Through advocacy, education, conservancy, preservation, and volunteerism, members of Sagmor Foundation are committed to supporting and furthering the stories of TEXAS WINE: The Texas Wine Industry, The Founders and Pioneers, The Programs and Technology, The Vines and The Land.
SAGMOR FOUNDATION - CURRENT ACTIVITIES
SAGMOR VINEYARD - STATE 'HISTORICAL PLACE' DESIGNATION. Our first action was working with The Lubbock County Historical Commission in support of their application on behalf of Sagmor Vineyard for state level historical designation. We are very appreciative of Lubbock County's support and work, and were pleased to annouce the awarding of "Historical Place" designation from the State of Texas Historical Commission in the Summer of 2024. SAGMOR FOUNDATION is now working with the Lubbock County Historical Commission and the State of Texas Historical Commission on the site marker and other items related.
THE 'DOC' MCPHERSON AWARD. SAGMOR FOUNDATION is the entity responsible for this annual award. Our AWARDS Committee reviews nominees and makes its recommendation to the board and the McPherson Family. Once the nominee has been selected, the award is presented annually during Texas Wine Month (October). The 2024 Award was presented on NOVEMBER 08, 2024 - MEET THE RECIPIENT HERE!

SAGMOR FOUNDATION - BOARD OF ADVISORS
Sagmor Foundation has applied for 501c3 status with The State of Texas. Its filings, bylaws creation, program and project infrastructure, and formal operation is being overseen and directed by the Board Of Advisors, which includes individuals who have shown interest, dedication and support of the Texas wine industry, and who are committed to guiding the establishment of Sagmor Foundation in support of its work as outlined. While aligned with Sagmor Vineyard, Sagmor Foundation and The Sagmor Society are separate operating and legal entities.
THE SAGMOR SOCIETY is an individual membership organization composed of people passionate about The History of Texas Wine.
A stand-alone entity, we are "The Friends" of Sagmor Foundation. Through stewardship, advocacy, community, public education, volunteer work and and fundraising, members of The Sagmor Society are work to make sure the many stories of Texas wine, Sagmor Vineyard, and historical data and records are preserved and continue to be shared.
Our work spans projects across the State of Texas, with our home in the High Plains.
